Dehumanization predicts the treatment of marginalized group members. Our work identifies that animalistic dehumanization is a stronger predictor of behavior than mechanistic dehumanization. We also explore the critical role of social justice motivations when trying to understand the links between dehumanizing perceptions and behavior.
