Making Christianity Manly Again address the rise in highly gendered evangelical discourse and practice, using Mars Hill Church and its iconic pastor Mark Driscoll as a case study. The book uses Driscoll’s sermons to illustrate how his gendered theology was communicated, as well as using narrative data from then-current and former Mars Hill members to understand how members implemented the theology (successfully or not).
