For more on the Student Lifestyle Expectations, see &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/scholars.spu.edu\/spufacultyaction\/spu-statement-on-human-sexuality\/#sleandsohs\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/scholars.spu.edu\/spufacultyaction\/spu-statement-on-human-sexuality\/#sleandsohs\">The SoHS &amp; Student Conduct Expectations<\/a>.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-vivid-purple-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\" id=\"studentconduct2020\">Student Standards of Conduct, 2018<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:33.33%\">\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">In <strong>December 2018,<\/strong> the Office of Student Life received administrative approval to eliminate the word &#8220;homosexual&#8221; from conduct rule #8, so that only extra-marital sexual activity and amorous cohabitation are prohibited. The rule now reads, &#8220;Behaviors for which students or student organizations are subject to disciplinary action include. . .  8. Sexual activity outside of a married relationship. The version of the standards featured here is from 2017.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<div data-wp-interactive=\"core\/file\" class=\"wp-block-file\"><object data-wp-bind--hidden=\"!state.hasPdfPreview\" hidden class=\"wp-block-file__embed\" data=\"https:\/\/scholars.spu.edu\/spufacultyaction\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/67\/2022\/07\/Student-Standards-of-Conduct-2017.pdf\" type=\"application\/pdf\" style=\"width:100%;height:400px\" aria-label=\"Embed of Embed of Student-Standards-of-Conduct-2017..\"><\/object><a id=\"wp-block-file--media-705f9072-9804-4a24-93cd-5f454113c6c0\" href=\"https:\/\/scholars.spu.edu\/spufacultyaction\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/67\/2022\/07\/Student-Standards-of-Conduct-2017.pdf\">Student-Standards-of-Conduct-2017<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-vivid-purple-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\" id=\"studentconduct2015\">Student Lifestyle Expectations, 2015-16<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:33.33%\">\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">In <strong>2015-16<\/strong>, the Behavioral and Community Expectations (including the policy prohibiting &#8220;cohabitation and related forms of premarital, extramarital, or homosexual sexual activities&#8221;) no longer appeared in the Undergraduate Catalog; they now appeared exclusively in the Student Handbook. At this time, the sexual conduct policy (expectation #3) defined &#8220;cohabitation&#8221; more precisely as &#8220;unmarried students in an amorous relationship living together.&#8221; The reference and hyperlink to SPU&#8217;s Statement on Human Sexuality was removed from rule #3 and placed in the preamble to the Behavioral and Community Expectations. They state that &#8220;Behaviors for which students or student organizations are subject to disciplinary action include&#8230;.3. Cohabitation and related forms of premarital, extramarital, or homosexual sexual activities.&#8221; The reference to the <a href=\"https:\/\/scholars.spu.edu\/spufacultyaction\/spu-statement-on-human-sexuality\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/scholars.spu.edu\/spufacultyaction\/spu-statement-on-human-sexuality\/\">Statement on Human Sexuality<\/a> being &#8220;available in the Office of Student Life&#8221; suggests that the SoHS was not online prior to 2007.
