As for academic writing, I look honors and AP writing courses in high school, most currently AP Literature and Language. The most frustrating aspect of academic writing in my experience has been the bias the professor has toward the subject matter or style in which I write in. Often times I have found that teachers willingly disregard a viewpoint that strays from their own or one that is written in the answer text. Writing is subjective, and the variance among opinions on a singular writing topic is infinite, but teachers and professors commonly grade only accordance to what they deem proper. I prefer writing scientific based research papers, more specifically on the convergence of dance and science. It is more satisfying to me to write based off of factual evidence rather than crafting something autobiographical or fictional. My inclination is to write in a structured format, rather than with great freedom so I can assure that I address all parts of the topic in an efficient way. If my writing is unstructured and lacks a sense of direction, I become disinterested.
