As a student, it seems that balancing the writing expectations of every professor throughout a collegiate education is an impossible task; however, with the outcomes for this course, I have gained awareness and proficiency as an academic writer. Before this course, I wrote to convince readers and teachers that I understood the topic, or in other words, that I had become an overnight expert. But after these ten weeks I have the evolved mindset that approaching writing as a process and asking relevant questions serves to benefit my own academic situation, and also awards me the tools necessary to contribute to the greater conversation in an effective and deliberate way.
