The major difference in our perspectives on my writing was that I attempt to be as objective as possible, not wanting to insert my opinion whereas you think this assignment in particular is centrally focused around opinion. In the past, I have been told that academic writing should be free of bias, while focusing on a central argument, which has been a difficult balance for me to find. So with the edition of these new comments I feel more confident to use a personal tone throughout my paper in order to convey my thoughts. From this conference I was able to clear up some cloudiness about the topic of the Major Paper and gain a more concrete understanding of the objective. It was also helpful having you articulate where I was heading down the wrong path in the previous short papers because I could eliminate revising those sections to insert into my Major paper.
