Procedures for Applying for W2/W3

Below is a description of the processes for applying to the W2 and W3 attributes for the upcoming SPU catalog. The processes for new courses and for the W3 attribute will be handled through Courseleaf, as usual, working on the timeline established by the Office of the Registrar. The processes for the W2 attribute will be handled through me (since we cannot update the Courseleaf form), and the timeline for W2 runs through October 31, 2025.

As a reminder, these are our procedures for this academic year. Once we have been able to update Courseleaf forms, the process should follow the usual Courseleaf steps.

More details below:

    • Nothing needs to be done.

Please reach out to Traynor with any questions about the process! And, let me know how I can help your programs think about which courses might work as W2 and W3. I am looking forward to meeting with programs to discuss writing curricula and am eager to support faculty teaching writing in any of these courses.
