LGBTQIA+ Work Group Shares Conclusions with SPU Community
On May 10, 2022, the co-chairs of the LGBTQIA+ Work Group share a written summary of the group’s report and recommendations with the community. Members of the Work Group also present these conclusions with faculty, staff, and students in in-person forums on May 11 and 12.
LGBTQIA+ Work Group Update: The April 15 Deadline
On April 15, 2022, the co-chairs of the LGBTQIA+ Work Group acknowledged they had not met the deadline requested by the Board for completion of their work, but noted that completion was imminent. They presented a PowerPoint version of the report and recommendations to the full Board through Zoom on April 22nd, and the complete report reached the Board on May 6.
LGBTQIA+ Work Group Formed
On January 11, 2022, it was officially announced that the LGBTQIA+ Work Group had been formed. The group consisted of four faculty members selected by Faculty Council, four Board members selected by the Board Chair and Interim President (who were also ex officio members), and four staff/senior leadership members selected by the Provost. The group membership represented a broad range of personal stances on LGBTQ issues.
