ASSP Student Senate Requests Changes to “Statement on Human Sexuality”

The ASSP Student Senate approves a student proposal requesting the removal of the term homosexual from Section 8 of the University’s Student Standards of Conduct, the addition of the terms gender and sexuality to the nondiscrimination policy, and the revision of the “Statement on Human Sexuality” to be LGBTQ affirming. A petition circulates in support of the proposal, which is then submitted (along with SPU student testimonies) to the University Board of Trustees in January 2019.
